Safe Environment
All adults who are involved with children at Nativity BVM Parish in any way, including faculty members, parent volunteers, coaches, etc., are required to have both a Criminal History Background Check and Child Abuse Clearance on file in the parish office. Both clearance checks are valid for five years. All are also required to attend a Safe Environment Training Session one time. The session schedule may be found at www.virtus.org. Additionally, completion of a web-based module providing guidlines for appropriate digital communication with youth is required and can be accessed at www.aoptraining.org. Finally, in 2011, all volunteers must attend a "mandated reporter training" sesssion.
All school volunteers must complete these requirements.
