Dress Code
The Dress Code at Nativity BVM School is in place to ensure modesty, affordability, and create a sense of community and spirit. Nativity students represent their school at all times and especially while in uniform.
All students from Kindergarten through Grade 8 are required to wear the school uniform. On gym days, students are to wear gym uniforms to school. Summer uniforms are optional and may be worn approximately April 15 to October 15. See school calendar for exact dates.
Preschool students are requested to wear the gym uniform daily.
All items are available at Flynn and O’Hara but comparable items are acceptable if within the dress code specifications. (i.e. Not cargo shorts, must be uniform shorts).

· Long or short sleeve tee shirt with school logo (Grey)
· White socks & Sneakers

Additional notes for all students:
· No jewelry except for a religious pin or medal. Girls may wear one small ring and one small earring per ear.
· No hair coloring, glitter, sprinkles, hair beads, nail polish, false nails or make-up.
· Hair should be of moderate style, neat and off the face, with boys' length above the shirt collar.
· If wearing an undershirt, it must be plain and white.
· Shirts are to be neatly tucked in at all times, unless otherwise noted (i.e. summer uniform and grade K).
· When ties are worn, the tie should not be loose and is to be neatly knotted.
· School shoes must have ties (cannot be slip-ons or Velcro).
Frequently Asked Questions:
· Is the school name embroidery required on the blue sweaters and vests?
Yes (in white thread).
· Is the school name embroidery required on the polo shirts?
No, but it is an option to have the embroidery (white shirts with blue thread or blue shirts with white thread).
· What style pants and shorts are permitted?
The shorts and pants must be uniform style pants. Cargo shorts and pants with pockets on the legs are not permitted.
· Is a long sleeve shirt required for the boys and girls during the winter months?
No, short sleeve shirts may be worn under the sweater or vest.
· Can boys leave the top button unbuttoned underneath their ties?
Yes, as long as the tie is neatly knotted, the top button may be left unbuttoned if necessary for comfort.
· What do you mean by White/Mostly White for the Summer Uniform sneakers?
We are trying to maintain a uniform look of white sneakers with the Summer Uniform but understand that "ALL WHITE" sneakers can be difficult to find and/or expensive. As such, White sneakers with a stripe (preferably blue) or a brand logo are acceptable. Dark sneakers and skate shoes, etc. are not permitted.
